Menchu is a multi-awarded actress in theater , and recently has won rave reviews for her <\/span>portrayal of Pepang<\/em> in the movie version of Ang Larawan<\/strong>. Fondly known as the First Lady of <\/span>Musical Theater, she has been doing theater since 1978. Some of her most notable roles are\u00a0Eva Peron<\/em> in\u00a0Evita<\/strong>, Fosca<\/em> in Passion,<\/strong> Guinevere<\/em> in Camelot,<\/strong> Jadis<\/em> in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe<\/strong>, Diana<\/em> in Next To Normal<\/strong>, Dulcinea<\/em> in Man of La Mancha<\/strong>, Mrs Lovett<\/em> in Sweeney Todd<\/strong>, Nancy<\/em> in Oliver!<\/strong>, Aurora<\/em> in Kiss of the Spiderwoman<\/strong>, Diana Morales<\/em>\u00a0in A Chorus Line<\/strong>, The Baker’s Wife<\/em> in Into The Woods<\/strong>, The Witch<\/em> in Into The Woods<\/strong>, Annette<\/em> in God of Carnage<\/strong>, Luisa<\/em> in Nine,<\/strong> Luisa<\/em> in The Fantasticks<\/strong>, Maria<\/em> in West Side Story<\/strong>, Cathy<\/em> in The Last Five Years<\/strong>, Erzulie<\/em> in Once On This Island<\/strong>, Older Joy<\/em> in Ang Huling El Bimbo<\/strong>, Anna<\/em> in The King and I<\/strong>, Nora<\/em> in A Dollhouse Part 2<\/strong>, Ellen<\/em> in the Manila production of Miss Saigon<\/strong>, Margaret<\/em> in Carrie,<\/strong> Velma<\/em> in Hairspray,<\/strong> Fantine<\/em> in Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/strong>, Maria<\/em> in The Sound of Music<\/strong>, Miss Hannigan<\/em> in Annie,<\/strong> Martha Livingstone<\/em> in Agnes of God<\/strong> and Martha<\/em> in The Secret Garden<\/strong> to name a few.<\/span><\/div>\n

Besides acting, she has also ventured into directing musicals like Jekyll &Hyde<\/strong>, Little Women<\/strong>, Peter Pan<\/strong> and West Side Story<\/strong>. <\/span>Menchu also directed the concert version of South Pacific<\/strong><\/span>, the first time an entire Broadway musical was done in concert form in the <\/span>Philippines.<\/span><\/div>\n

M<\/span>ost recently, Menchu conceptualised and directed the online concert of Nadine Lustre. <\/span>Menchu is currently the Artistic Director for Full House Theater Inc.
