Carla Guevara Laforteza is a premiere, multi-awarded leading lady and character actress, known for being one of the strongest and most fearless stage performers in the Philippines.
She has graced the international theater scene having played the roles of Kim, Gigi and Yvette in Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London (1995-1997), Kate Monster and Lucy The Slut in Avenue Q at the Esplanade Theater in Singapore (2008), Olive Ostrovsky in Spelling Bee at the Victoria theatre in Singapore (2009), and as the Club Singer and Flo Manero for the Asian tour of Saturday Night Fever (2015). Carla is also currently touring around Asia as one of the official vocalists for Disney in Concert (2023-2025) .
Notable local Original Filipino Musicals include Rachel in Joseph the Dreamer (ALIW 2022 Best Featured Actress in a Musical Awardee), Lily in Binondo a Tsinoy Musical (ALIW 2018 Best Actress in a Musical awardee) , Joy in Ang Huling El Bimbo (2019 LEAF most Outstanding Actress in a Musical awardee) Kapitana Mary Jane in Rak of Aegis (GEMS best Featured Actress in a Musical awardee) Grand Vidame Inky in 3 Stars and a Sun (GAWAD BUHAY best featured actress in a Musical Nominee, The Adarna Bird in The Quest for the Adarna (2019-2022) and Donya Victorina in IBARRA The Musical (2023). She recently bagged the 2023 ALIW Best Fetaured actress in a Musical Award her portrayal as The Queen in Repertory Philippines Theatre for Young Audiences production of Snow White and The Prince. Carla is set to stage her first Major solo concert at the CCP as part of their “Triple Threat Series” on July 25, 2024 to celebrate her 30 years in the industry. She is currently appearing as Edith and Rose in the new Ben&Ben Musical, One More Chance running till November and will be part of the new Jose Mari Chan Musical to be staged by Repertory Philippines in December.
